Before DSound

1992
A young professor of physics taught the mathematic background of signal processing. He met a guy working in the audio industry, building the first digital recording studios in Czech Republic at one of the lectures. This relation between science and business is the background of all our work and the professor leads the company now.
1995

DISK Multimedia, a company distributing and selling audio gear, was established.
Now, DISK Multimedia is the real legal company behind all our brands.

 

1996
Two university students, computer geeks and audiophiles, touched by Signals & Systems and Acoustics courses and amazed by the starting era of digital signal processors were on their way to DISK Multimedia studio. They talked about creating plug-ins.
1997
The students had started experiments with the DirectX SDK and decided to place the DSound name to the manufacturer field of his first audio plug-in creations. After showing some of their work, DISK realized the business opportunity this could have.
The third part, programming, was added to science and business as the third pillar the company stands on.

DSound

1998
DISK hired the above mentioned students. They agreed to use DSound name as a software division of DISK Multimedia.  The DISK owners put unbelievable effort to get financial resources and invested all their possessions to the development.
1999
The first result of the DSound development was a bundle of professional plug-ins: Simple Audio Plug-in Pack, containing Parametric EQ, Delay and Modulation effects.
2000
We came with an idea to develop software for guitarists. The musicians around and other companies criticized this idea: "Guitarists will never use software!“ We know how the history made this statement ridiculous.

2001
The first trip to the NAMM Show. It was not an easy trip, no experience, just a few greenbacks in a pocket and a lot of enthusiasm. The feedback was very positive but everybody required the Mac versions.
DSound missed the Mac developer, so they visited a guy working in a radio station and asked: “You created programs for Atari ST, so you’ll be able to do that for a Mac, it has similar graphic interface”. The radio guy agreed, although the programming for the two platforms appeared to be damn different later.
We cooperated with the Technical University of Brno on research organized by young talented scientist, who helped us to develop the first distortion algorithms. This cooperation lasts for more than 15 years.
We shortly developed for the old Mac OS 8 and 9 system, but after some investigations, we decided to support the newly released Mac OS X 10.0 beta. In 2001, D-Sound had its portfolio running on Mac OS X as one of the first companies in the industry.

2002
D-Sound had released two sets of SW stomp boxes, the set supports complete guitar sound processing both for distorted and acoustic guitars. There was no solution for comfortable live performance using computer on the market. So DISK came with the idea of RT Player and we developed this low-latency VST host.
2003
DSound was selling a set of software guitar pedals, set of mastering effects and a host for live performance.
We re-colored the interface to the red and renamed the application from RT Player to GT Player, directly targeting guitarists. Wow! The product started selling much better and attracted some big companies to bundle it with their hardware.
As the first company worldwide, we had a native Mac OS X application opening the old VST plug-ins (as only a few developers were able to release native Mac OS X plug-ins in the beginning of OSX).
We continue cooperation with the Technical University in Brno.
2004
We created the first 3rd party plug-in for TC Electronic accelerator PowerCore. It is a model of TL-Audio interface. After many modifications, we are still selling this product as a native effect inValve, while PowerCore is forever gone.
2005
We developed several solutions for 3rd parties and and unique technology for distribution of audio processing.

Audiffex

DSound became a problematic brand name in the web-searching era. A Swedish band, Windows DLL and several other things had the same name. We changed the name to Audiffex.

2005
We continued cooperation with several renown companies, e.g. M-Audio or TC Electronic as Audiffex
2006
Our live performance SW was so reliable that it is used as the main host for live instruments by a band Olympic, playing for more than 10,000 people each show - and there were hundreds of such concerts.
2007
The realistic simulation of solid state bass amps - GK Amplification.
A special software application for M-Audio NRV mixer.
Multichannel recording solution for courts - Court Rec
RT Player and GT Player are replaced by inTone. The image below shows a never released concept of inTone. Later we decided to make it looking like a mixing console instead a set of rack modules.
2008
VL2 transformed into inValve, with addition of two new processors
Full featured guitar processor - ampLion.

Feedback elimination and multichannel processing modules for large churches
The cooperation on research of audio technologies with the Technical University of Brno successfully continues.

2010
Research projects in multichannel audio.
Janacek Academy of Performing Arts chooses Audiffex as a partner for a project bringing technologies to music education at the highest level. We create several software solutions, we establish and teach new lectures at the Academy.
2011
New talented people extended our team, all of them active musicians but also algorithm and plug-in technology developers. We also started to cooperate with a young sound designer and composer who handles the external team of professionals supervising the ultimate quality of our products.
Our team cooperates with composers and teachers from the prestigious university - Janacek Academy of Performing Arts. 
Also a very famous producer, musician and composer starts to work with us. He brings the idea to make models of German broadcast devices so we start the development.
We construct a modular multichannel superior-quality interface with an embedded computer. 
2012
As a result of the project with the Academy and thanks to the cooperation with Technical University, we created a concept of Audio Engineering studies, which was accepted by both universities as an inter-university field of studies. We started teaching future audio engineers.
This board powers the feedback cancellation in several hundreds of churches built between the 14th and 21st centuries (this is the real history).

Audified was originally a name of the web portal for hardware and professional solutions released under the D-Sound, Audiffex or solutions based on our cooperation with other companies.

A new marketing manager, an experienced audio journalist and producer in the multimedia industry creates a new concept of our marketing and sales. Our products get finally more visibility.

2015
To improve our business and growth, we move to a building with offices for startups, innovative and progressive companies and we even take part in a project improving our internal organization. We cooperate with some companies around us and extend our potential.
The new company building is near to the Technical University, we teach Acoustics there.

We changed the graphics design from 2D to fully 3D modelled. We have  talented artists creating GUI with unbelievable details.
MixChecker, a simple but very very effective tool for professionals checking the sound of their mixes on various devices.
